Objectives of the Herne Hill Society
Our aim is to improve the quality of the amenities, facilities and environment of the Herne Hill area for the benefit of residents, visitors and local businesses.
We do this by
- promoting high standards of local planning, architecture, transport and other facilities
- exploring the area’s geography, history and natural history
- encouraging the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest
On Wed 9 March 2016 the Society voted to revise the Constitution at its Annual General Meeting. It was then ratified by the Charity Commission.

The Herne Hill Society has a Reserves Policy, in accordance with Charity Commission guidance, to provide assurance that our finances are well managed and our activities are sustainable. This policy explains how reserves are used to manage uncertainty and fund future purchases and activities. The Committee reviews the policy every three years as part of our planning process.
