Committee 2020/21
We are a registered charity. Our governing structure consists of a committee whose members are also Trustees. There are sub-committees that deal with Planning and Historical Research.
The current Committee was elected at the AGM of Wed 11 March 2020. Since April 2020 it has conducted business through online meetings.
The next AGM will take place online on Wed 24 March 2021. Log on from 6:45pm for a prompt 7:00pm start. Further details will appear on this page.
Rebecca Tee | Acting Chair
Rebecca Tee has lived in SE24 since 1993. She works as a careers expert and for the last decade she has been involved in the governance of local schools as a volunteer. She has been Acting Chair since 5 January 2021.
Laurence Marsh | Vice-Chair
A retired barrister and editor, Laurence has been on the Committee since 2008. He leads the Planning and Historical Research groups and edits the Magazine.
Martyn Hall | Treasurer
Martyn has lived in Herne Hill since 1997 and has worked for a number of charities.
Henry Ferguson | Secretary
A former IT Technician, Henry has lived in Herne Hill since 2005. He is particularly interested in how local communities change. He has two children at local schools.

Carol Boucher
Carol Boucher has lived in Herne Hill for some 45 years. She was a local Lambeth Councillor from 2010 to 2014.
Annie Gelly
Annie is a locally-based musician.
Rosalind Glover
Ros Glover has returned to the Committee after a few years’ break. She served as Treasurer for several years. She is now our Membership Secretary and Data Protection Officer.
Jackie Plumridge
Jackie manages the catering at all our events and helps out on our bookstall.
Patrick Roberts
Pat is a long-standing Herne Hill resident. He is a former diplomat and public relations professional.
Val Suebsaeng
Val is a retired Children and Families Social Worker and manager with over 40 years experience of London local authorities.
Colin Wight
Colin has worked in academic teaching and research, tourism, publishing and events management. He edited the British Library website for over a decade. Colin led our First World War project and commissioned the war memorial in Herne Hill Station.
