Committee 2024/25
The Society is a registered charity. Our governing structure consists of a committee whose members are also Trustees. There are sub-committees that handle Planning and Historical Research.
Rebecca Tee | Chair
Rebecca has lived in SE24 since 1993. She works as a careers expert, and for the last decade has been involved in the governance of local schools as a volunteer.
Laurence Marsh | Vice-Chair
A retired barrister and editor, Laurence has been on the Committee since 2008. He leads the Planning and Historical Research groups and edits the Magazine.
Lyndon Fothergill | Treasurer
Lyndon worked as a Town Planner for many years, for the Greater London Authority and Camden and Hackney Councils.
Susie Perring (co-opted) | Secretary
Susie was born in West Dulwich and has lived in Herne Hill over 45 years.Originally a graphic designer, she is now a professional artist and printmaker. She is also a council member of the RBA (Royal Society of British Artists) charity.

Henry Ferguson
A former IT Technician, Henry has lived in Herne Hill since 2005. He is interested in how local communities change. He has two children at local schools.
Rosalind Glover
Rosalind has returned to the Committee after a few years’ break. She served as Treasurer for several years. She is now our Membership Secretary and Data Protection Officer.
Lin Proctor
Lin has a PR and marketing background. Recently she has been working with schools to increase their community and local business links for pupils.
Martyn Hall
Martyn has lived in Herne Hill since 1997 and has worked for a number of charities. He is a former Treasurer of the Society.

Colin Wight | Honorary President
Colin was Chair of the Society for eight years and a member of the Committee from 2004 to 2021. He worked for the British Library for over 30 years, the last 12 as chief website and social media editor.
